The Winter’s Tale
A story about intolerance, full of contrasts, emotions, and passion, adapted to the 21st century and brought to life by a stellar cast.
Some mistakes can be forgiven if there is true remorse. Leontes, driven by baseless jealousy because it is his wife—not him—who has managed to persuade his friend to prolong his stay, publicly mistreats her and uses his power to punish her disproportionately.
Over time, and thanks to a family friend who is the only one brave enough to stand up to Leontes, he becomes aware of his wrongdoing and genuinely repents. As a reward for this change of heart, Shakespeare creates a fantastic ending in which the impossible becomes possible.
In a world as harsh as ours, it seems wonderful that something like this can lift us up and make us believe, even for a moment, that everything is possible when conscience is awakened. Tales told by the fire are mines of imagination, where morality can emerge through each of their words.
